Saint Brendan's Online
A Monastic, Oblate, and Retreat Mission in the Celtic and Benedictine Traditions

Welcome to Saint Brendan's Online -- the internet portal to the Monastic and Oblate ministries of Saint Brendan's.

Saint Brendan's Monastic Retreat Community

Situated on a 200-year old farm in Downeast Maine, Saint Brendan's Monastic Retreat Community has been consecrated to God as a place of retreat, solitude, prayer, and monastic formation.

The activity of the farm is punctuated throughout the day by prayer as retreatants join the Father Prior and Mother Prioress in the Liturgy of the Hours - the monastic hours of prayer from sunrise to sunset.  Holy Eucharist is also celebrated 5 days a week in Holy Trinity Chapel.

Saint Brendan's is a monastic, oblate, and retreat mission in the Celtic and Benedictine traditions.  As a ministry under the cover of the United Anglican Church (a sacramental, liturgical, evangelical, and Spirit-filled expression of historical, Anglo-Catholic faith within the wider Body of Christ), Saint Brendan's also serves as an ecumenical ministry, introducing Christians of all denominations and communions to the rich treasures of monastic spirituality.

Monastic Fellowship of Saint Brendan's

God is calling many people from all walks of life into the rhythms of lay monastic spirituality.  Our Friends and Oblates are a part of this vibrant move of God.

The Monastic Fellowship of Saint Brendan's introduces our Friends and Oblates to the tools and spiritual direction necessary to embrace the ancient vows of monastic faith while continuing to work, raise families, and be active members of their local congregations.

Our "Fellowship" is an ecumencial ministry because God's call to simple, intentional, monastic faith is transcending all denominational boundries.
