Welcome to "The Frumpy Monk."
The Frumpy Monk is Saint Brendan's cottage industry store. We work with our hands as a part of our monastic discipline. One of the classic labors of monks has been the tying and
selling of prayer ropes. Our prayer ropes are hand-tied right here at the Priory House. We tie an adaptation of the Anglican prayer rope. We also tie rosaries, wrist chaplets, and key fobs all finished with the same hand-tied crosses.
Income from the sale of each prayer rope will be put into a fund for the construction of Holy Trinity Chapel -- the "house that prayer built."
We will be adding other items in the near future. Check the column to the right and click on the links as they become available.
Future items will include our printed resources such as our Breviary, Rule of Life, and our Celebration of the Eucharist (a contemporary adaptation of the Holy Eucharist from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer); hand-made products from our goat milk; roasted coffees; as well as herb and spice blends.
We'll also try to get better at how we set up our ordering process. We're learning. Thank you for supporting this ministry!
